Arborist CT – Professional Arborist Service Offering Expert Tree Care

Knowledgeable, Trustworthy, Certified!

About Our Complete Tree Care Company in CT

Most of our arborist work comes down to three things: diagnosing sick trees, running pest management programs that protect them, and saving trees that can still be saved. Elliott Tree Service is led by Brandon Elliott, a licensed Connecticut arborist serving homeowners and businesses across eastern Connecticut. We combine science-based tree care with honest, local advice — so you get a straight answer on what’s wrong with your tree and what it will actually take to fix it.

Tree Injections & Pest Management

Tree injection system treating an ash tree for emerald ash borer

This year we treated a giant green ash tree here in Connecticut — the tree in this photo. Green ash has some natural resistance to emerald ash borer, and with our trunk injection, soil pH level adjustment, and proper deadwood removal, this giant green ash has a real chance of living a long life.

Some tree problems can’t be fixed from the outside — so we treat them from the inside. We offer trunk and systemic injections that deliver treatment directly into the tree’s vascular system, targeting pests and disease right where they live.

Emerald Ash Borer Treatment for Ash Trees

The emerald ash borer has devastated ash trees across Connecticut — but a valuable ash tree is not necessarily a lost one. Our trunk-injection treatments protect healthy ash trees from emerald ash borer and can save infested trees that still have a viable canopy. Each tree is evaluated first, and injection is only recommended where the tree has a realistic chance of recovery.

Treatment for Insects & Disease — After a Proper Diagnosis

Every treatment starts with a proper diagnosis. We identify the pest or disease affecting your tree or shrub and prescribe a targeted injection or plant health care program for that specific problem. This precise, inside-the-tree approach treats the problem at its source while minimizing product use around your landscape.

A Licensed Arborist Can Often Save Your Tree

Too many valuable trees are removed when they could have been saved. Before you decide a tree must come down, have a licensed arborist take a look. With the right diagnosis and treatment — including trunk injections — a declining tree can often be brought back to health instead of being cut down.

Trimming & Pruning

Pruning removes specific branches to improve plant health and structure; trimming cuts back overgrowth to maintain shape and appearance. The difference matters. Using the wrong technique — or doing both at the same time — can stress or damage your trees.

Cabling & Bracing

Trees that weren’t properly pruned or trained when young can develop weak structure that puts people, pets, and buildings at risk — especially mature trees with two or more trunks. Cabling, bracing, and staking add support where a tree needs it, stabilizing structural weaknesses before they fail.

Diagnosing Sick Trees & Pest Management

When a tree or shrub starts declining, the first step is figuring out exactly what’s wrong. We diagnose the pest or disease at work, then treat it with a targeted, environmentally conscious approach — addressing the actual problem instead of guessing, and protecting your landscape’s long-term health.

Benefits of Choosing a Professional Arborist for Your Trees and Landscape

Hiring a professional arborist goes far beyond basic maintenance. A certified arborist understands tree biology — how to diagnose problems, recommend proactive solutions, and do the work safely. That means your trees live longer, your landscape looks better, and risks like property damage or spreading disease get handled before they become expensive. Every tree gets science-based care tailored to what it actually needs, from a team that’s invested in your landscape’s future.

“Highly recommend Brandon Elliott for all of your tree/arborist needs. He is great to work with — professional, prompt, flexible, and reliable. He brings extensive (LOCAL!!) knowledge to his work and his dedication to his clients and keeping their property safe is evident from all the work he has done on my property in Mansfield. He is always my FIRST call when I have any tree needs.”

Licensed Arborist Credentials and Industry Standards

A Connecticut arborist license is more than a credential — it’s proof your trees are in the hands of someone who meets strict state requirements. Licensing requires thorough education, hands-on training, and rigorous exams covering tree biology, safety standards, integrated pest management, and ethical practices — plus continuing education to stay current. When you hire a licensed arborist, you get deep expertise and a commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices on every job.

Ash Protection Program

The emerald ash borer has killed ash trees all across Connecticut — but an ash tree that’s treated in time can still be saved. Our Ash Protection Program is built around trunk injections that carry protection through the tree from the inside out. Treatments run on roughly a two-year protection cycle, with an annual health check between treatments so we can catch any trouble early. Here’s the honest part: if your ash was treated early, it can be saved. If the borer has already done too much damage, we’ll tell you straight and help you plan the next step. Call 860-230-8260 to have your ash trees looked at.

Annual Tree Health Plan

Most tree problems are a lot easier to deal with when they’re caught early. Our Annual Tree Health Plan keeps a licensed arborist watching your trees all year long: a spring inspection with any treatments your trees need, a mid-season health check, and fall feeding to send your trees into winter strong. Instead of finding out about a problem after the damage is done, you’ll hear about it while there’s still time to act. Call 860-230-8260 to put your trees on the plan.

Deep Root Fertilization & Soil Testing

A struggling tree usually has a struggling root zone. That’s why we test before we feed. We send a soil sample to the lab first, find out exactly what your soil is missing, and feed based on what the soil actually needs — we test, then we feed. Our deep root feeding uses injection to place nutrients right in the root zone where the tree can take them up, and adjusting soil pH is part of real treatment work, not an afterthought. It’s one of the reasons the green ash in our injection work above bounced back. Call 860-230-8260 to get your soil tested.

Save It or Remove It? An Honest Answer.

When a tree is in trouble, there’s really one question that matters: can it be saved, or does it need to come down? As a licensed arborist, Brandon Elliott will give you a straight answer either way. And because we do both kinds of work — treatments and removals — the advice isn’t tilted toward one answer or the other. If treatment can save your tree, that’s what we’ll recommend. If the tree is too far gone and taking it down is the safe call, we’ll tell you that too.
